Reno update

Visited site today at about 3pm.

Air-con

  • Air-con duct through bedroom3 was not run as I expected. Called ID, who confirmed she was present during installation yesterday, and the change was advised by the installers. Accepted rationale, but slightly peeved I was not informed
  • Collected air-con warranty cards, and handed over cheque to AC ST
  • After ST left, noticed the condenser unit’s top is quite obviously dented on the right, and the some vertical vents on the unit are also bent. Informed ST with photo at night

Plumbing works are done.

  • Noticed the following and called ID.
    • Double tap connecting the water supply to the instant heater in both toilets were not installed. She will take care of it.
    • Handspray for both toilet bowls not installed. Expected. To prevent rust.
  • Rain shower in common toilet obstructed ceiling light direction to the basin area. Sent picture to ID for follow-up. she will shift the light.

Reno Update: Plumbing works, and a complaint to HDB about wall seepage

Plumbing works today. Again, good to be on site with the service provider and the ID to go over details. Also, the fixtures and fittings have been delivered.

Also completed epic Q&A with ID on long list of of outstanding questions. Still waiting for responses/changes to the additional works quote.

Also asked for the light outside bedroom3 to have dual switch added near her bedroom entrance. (I knew I’d miss something. Thank goodness, it was easily remedied).
Emailed HDB tech officer on wall seepage (after heavy rain over past days) at ceiling over the kitchen windows, at advice of ID.

Discussed plan about using Ikea’s Algot shelving system for the laundry region, and also kitchen cabinet accessories – to visit Sim Siang Choon, purchase and bring to flat.

Reno update: Electrical works… and an unplanned visit

Last minute visit to site as electrical works are starting and ID was calling to confirm one point’s location, despite request to reconfirm before proceeding. Good to be onsite to confirm and review locations of sockets. Bedroom3 change – location of second set of double-socket and change to single due to request. Not happy to have this foisted on me. Feel like something’s missing, and I’ve not taken some IMPORTANT point into account or am forgetting stuff.

UPDATE: later in the day, informed ID and reversed decision on the single-socket – will remain a double.

  • Ensure entrance is original 90cm width from current 80cm width
  • Install glass door
  • Change location of dry area cabinet to be flush with entrance wall (planned new entrance location)
    • Quote was full length bottom only, while my impression was half width with top cabinets
    • Consider breakfast table set for empty space
  • Dining table flush with wall, cannot be more than 1.5m in length

  • Replace bamboo pole hooks and change location of hooks
